How Do I Write Reviews?

Recently I've gone mad writing book reviews for the blog and scheduling them, so it only seemed logical to write a post about it, and tell you about my "Five Stages of Reviewing A Book", and I made a little graphic for it too. Click on the graphic to be brought to a larger version!

That's how I review a book, book bloggers; what's your journey like from reading a book to a published review?

  1. All that is definitely true. Sniffing the pages is the best! :P I actually try to write the review on the same day.

    1. I usually need a day or two to get my thoughts ironed out, if I do it just after I'll either be really negative or super fangirly! ;) Fi x

  2. This is such a cool idea! Depending on how much I've loved the book and how much it's killed my feelings sometimes I hug the book (and my stuffed sheep) before being able to set it down and try and make coherent thoughts about it!

    1. Thank-you, I have a stuffed leopard that I hug! My usual drafts for reviews are "LOVE THIS SO SO MUCH" "THAT BIT, NOT SO MUCH" "OMG, HE WAS THE BEST BOOK BOYFRIEND EVA" hehe, Fi x

  4. I need this. A DAY LATER? I wish. I've not reviewed a book for... probably a long time.
Do you like killing trees do you? DO YOU? What if it's recycled paper? Hmm...? I prefer the smell of old ones. My favourite book smell is the one of my German dictionary as it's the one my Mum had about 15 years ago when she did German & that makes it smell very old & nice. Plus, I flick through it quickly trying to find a word & the smell just wafts about. It just smells like WORDS.
I think we've focused on smelling the book more than reading it... Um, oops?

Also, did I tell you I love your background for your blog? The swirls... am dead jealous of that beauty. GORGEOUS.

P.S. You're talking of stuffed animals. I just hug my very much alive cat :P He's a weird egg, he even likes having his tail played with- something most cats detest.
